This sermon is on Luke 1:1-4, the prologue to Luke’s gospel, and this sermon is kind of a prologue to the upcoming Advent season.  In this passage Luke gives us his reason for writing his gospel clear and simple—God has a plan and he wants to assure us of that.  Like Theophilus, we sometimes look at the world around us and wonder where God is, or even if there is a God; but Luke wants to assure us, God has a plan, God is active, and all of this centres around Jesus Christ who has come into the world.
