DECEMBER 4:  Christmas Hamper items will be displayed on wreathes.  We encourage people to grab a star with an item for the Christmas Hamper. These items will be collected on December 11th and 18th and the Christmas Hamper will be delivered on Friday, December 23rd. Also, if there are no remaining unclaimed items left for the Christmas Hamper and you are looking for a way to participate, the deacons and Neighborhood Dinner team are looking to collect $5 Tim Horton's gift cards to handout to our neighbors in need at the January Neighborhood Dinner.

OCTOBER 9:  Special Offering:  Traditionally at Thanksgiving, we at The Bridge give thanks for God’s abundance bygiving abundantly to others.  As in past years, a second basket will be passed this Sunday for the Thanksgiving offering; the proceeds will gotowards the neighbourhood Christmas dinner.

OCTOBER 11—Council Meeting

OCTOBER 16: Peter Fish will be handed out to all the children.  These orange banks are intended to help you to remember Jesus’ compassion and care for hungry people and to inspire you to your own acts of compassion.  One way is to fill the fish banks with your change and bring them back to church on World Hunger Sunday (November 6, 2016).

NOVEMBER 5 - Praying with the Prayer Books: 7:30pm at the church A group of people meet on the first Monday of the month to explore and debrief the experience of praying with prayer books.  Anyone is free to join at any time.

This is an opportunity to be led in prayer, every morning and evening.  We will experiment using different prayer books, each of which have found a treasured place among Christians.   We will meet once a month to debrief the experience of praying with the particular book of that month, and then introduce the next book for the coming month.  The hope is that after a year of praying this way, we will have found that our prayer life, and more importantly our relationship with Christ, has been deeply and profoundly enriched.

 

NOVEMBER 8: Peter Fish will be collected.  Simply bring your Peter Fish to the service and the Deacons will be there to collect them before and after the service.

 

NOVEMBER 23:  Warm Clothing Drive:  Throughout the month of November, The Bridge is accepting new/used warm clothing, in good condition, to be distributed at the neighbourhood dinner on November 23rd.  To find out more about donating or to volunteer for distributing the clothing, please speak with one of the deacons or email brandon.kinsey@student.ufv.ca.  Thank you.
